Database Maintenance & Tuning
An Oracle or SQL database is at the heart of your COMMANDseries systems. Your database can become fragmented just like a standard hard drive. Usually, the performance of the system degrades over time, so the speed decrease is not immediately noticed. To keep your systems running efficiently a certain amount of maintenance is needed. Command Alkon offers services to assist you with this activity and we can tailor our offerings to your individual needs. The objective is to invest in the stability of your system instead of react to problems. We want to help you address issues before the system goes down. The specific benefits of database maintenance and tuning include:
- Verifying that the database is utilizing the memory resources.
- Determining potential disk space / resource problems.
- Verifying that nightly exports are functioning.
- Verifying if disk drives need to be de-fragmented, to improve performance.

System Maintenance & Expansion
Command Alkon can provide services for the maintenance or expansion of your existing infrastructure systems. The need for this may be driven by a new acquisition, industry growth or a desire to update your existing infrastructure. These services may include:

Installation, Integration & Certification
During the initial installation of your products, Command Alkon certifies the appropriate installation and configuration of your new software, hardware and communications. This activity includes review and verification of your current network design, server configurations, service packs, and directory structure. Our technical resources will install and setup the database, the server-based application, and client applications on all necessary workstations. The process will continue with monitoring of system performance and performing any necessary system tuning. All peripheral interfaces to batch panels, printers, scales, etc. will be configured and tested.
